Does it work in PPP? How?

It ought to be the same as for the PinePhone since it's provided by the modem. I'm not sure which distros have the AGPS working without manual intervention, if any. Without AGPS you'll need a good sky view, patience and luck to get a GPS fix.

I get position with satellite program. The coordinates are the same as with an Android program and a TonTom gps , so Gpsgives a precision position but with openstreetmap I can not get position on map but with android can. Could anybody tell me something? Is there any map application for pinephone pro to navigate with?

Hi Emilio.
As you already know, puremaps can use the GPS data but losing the internet connection.
However "satellite" is able to have a connection to the GPS without losing the internet connection.
I guess it will be fixed later.

Well, today I could walk several streets with puremaps without losing the
Signal. Tomorrow I want to check if I can navigate from my actal position to a chosen one. The problem was not with puremaps but with me for lack of knowledge. I could discover ( I did not know) that you need the APN of your Provider. I got it and set my smartphone and I could walk with the received final all the time.

in Android you do not do anything, it is sutomatic, here you have to do things and learn step by step if you are not. Linux guru and that is nice

Any news on GPS support (hacks, workarounds) ?

I do get location when connected to Wifi (plasma mobile/manjaro), but not when phone is alone in the wild.

How do you guys get location data? are you having a sim inserted with mobile data or are you using a distro which supports the GPS module?

@Emilio: you can use OSMIN, its an amazing map to use offline. I can use it when creating a hotspot from my UBPorts phone to the Pinephone (which is not the out in the wild setup I need of course....)
Install instructions here: https://github.com/magdesign/osmin/wiki/Installing

Edit:
****
After inserting an old, not activated SIM card, I finally get GPS too....

Edit2:
*****
After deep sleep the modem is down and phone needs reboot to get GPS again...
