axolotl signal client on postmarket os?
#1
I'm using axolotl on my pinephone with manjaro. There is no arch/manjaro version from axolotl, but it is repackaged from the mobian .deb package.

See here: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=14223

and here: https://github.com/nuehm-arno/axolotl-mobian-package

Is it possible to build a apk package from source or "repackage" one of the existing packages from other distros?

Hi nieral,

It is a bit late for my reply, I do not know any build of apk package for Signal, but I only read online one successful case for pinephone to run Signal on postmarketOS successfully:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PINE64official/...e_success/

You can try flatpak for axolotl, this is the closest one you can get from a packaged one for postmarketOS. However, I tried to install it but it is always stay on pending.

I did get Signal to run on anbox, using duckduckgo browser to download Signal and installed it and run, but anbox is responding slowly and crash often, and the keyboard sometime is not responding.

Thanks for the reddit link! I will take a closer look at this solution. I tried signald in connection with pidgin in the past. But with pidgin I had issues with the keyboard. Therefore Axolotl was a relief (at least at my pinephone with manjaro).
