Edit Reason: Clarify OS that did not work
)
So far I haven't had much luck with the Anker PowerExpand+ 7-in-1
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PPGWQ15
My results have been similar to @ jabo .
Power pass through works.
Doesn't work:
HDMI video out.
USB accessories (keyboard and mouse)
SD reader
Ethernet
EDIT: Using stock Debian/Mate image
Works with Ubuntu image! https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?...7#pid51887

Microsoft Display Doc just charges. No video, no USB-hub. Pinebook screen flashes, so there is something detected...

When I get mine I'll check compatability with my dock (https://www.deltaco.eu/en/products/n%C3%.../USBC-1266) After looking at the dock you linked and at the wiki page for the pbp it looks like it should work as the pinebook pro uses Alt DP

So far I have only tested the USB, charging and hdmi and charging + hdmi out works fine! USB not so much.. Have alot to do and not much time but will update when I test the SD card reader and ethernet!
I have the bionic ubuntu image installed though so can't vouch for functionality on the default Debian image!

If I understand USB C DisplayPort alternate mode, you would need a device that uses DisplayPort on the USB C side. Or video drivers for a USB video device.
My goal is USB C charging, USB 3 hub with at least 2 ports, and DisplayPort alternate mode. Bonus if I get Gigabit Ethernet. Not sure if that's possible. But I will be looking.
In the short term I will live with a simple USB C DisplayPort alternate adapter cable. Then use the barrel charger.

Power pass through works.
Doesn't work:
HDMI video out.
USB accessories (keyboard and mouse)
SD reader
Ethernet
EDIT: Using stock Debian/Mate image
I tested with the Ubuntu-Mate image (using @ Wizzard 's excellent tutorial)
Everything on the dock is working! This is fantastic!
EDIT:
Upon closer inspection, everything is working except ethernet, as discussed later in this thread.

Is it safe to assume your quoted, failed attempt was using the default Debian?

Is it safe to assume your quoted, failed attempt was using the default Debian? Correct. I'll edit the originals to clarify.

Any advice on a specific device that supports Display port alternate mode?
