Personally, I've never use SPI at such speed, I usually use 10MHz or 25MHz.
And its good to point out at this juncture in the discussion, that if you're going to use speeds at or above 25 Mhz, you're going to run into problems with plugable breadboards! At such frequencies the 32pf capacitance of interconnections on the breadboard become shorts at that frequency. Usually your project will require soldered breadboards with plenty of caps sprinkled around for decoupling. I usually use SPI much slower ( slower than 10Mhz. )
