The issue here isn't MTP itself (which is a really useful protocol), but the MTP daemons available on Linux, which either lack important features (being able to choose the UID owning files transferred from the computer is fundamental) or are too insecure for now (no user confirmation request possible, or the daemon can only run as root).

So for now, MTP isn't fit for default inclusion in Mobian, but it'll be back as soon as the underlying software is secure enough (and we have time to test/package it of course)
