When I say it won't play it literally starts skipping tracks and infinitely loads

The guys trying to get it to passthrough in Kodi (to their AVR) are having the same issue skipping, &c.  

Will it play via hdmi audio?
I'll give it a try tonight when I am home. youtube app works fine.
