This is actually not an "issue", but an improvement.

The "x"  button for closing apps is no longer there - but, try to to swipe up the open app that you wish to close, put and hold your finger over the app window (in the the same screen where you used to press on "x") and swipe it upwards, the desired app should be closed, isn't that smooth? :-)
