megapixels crashes on picture take

so megapixels doesn't do different things with different ways of launching it, it simply has off colour and freezes the first time it's opened, and normal colour and crashes the second time it's opened.

I attempted to purge it (the fix for Mobian is apt purge megapixels and then reinstalling) using

but it didn't fix anything, even after a reboot as some others had suggested for Mobian.
