@Computer semi-expert I was discussing this with some friends, something seems off about the whole thing. It all feels more like I'm being sold a product, rather than an open source project.
If they intend to make the project open source, why are they currently working on it closed source? Why wouldn't they do their development open source from day 1? Just seems weird.
One thing to look out for when they (apparently) do open source the project is making sure there is a clear history of commits from where it diverged from Ubuntu - and no binary blobs or hard to understand code in the source.
