Soft vs. hard Pinephone case?

I see there are both hard and soft shell cases. Pros and cons of each?

I prefer the soft case. On the hard case the parts that covers the buttons seems more fragile and after some months of use they fell off. But maybe that's just because I use the buttons a lot with sxmo.
