passwd / can't log in

This isn't a solution, but a similar problem. I've been waiting days and seemingly nobody can answer my question. I just got the new PmOS phone and I'm trying to root, but sudo doesn't recognize my password. Has anyone else been through this? Any assistance would be much appreciated.
