I have only been to a couple of them in Germany, but there are some very knowledgeable people willing to help. They do a repair cafe once a month (at least in Nürnberg/Fürth).

I'm glad there are still hardware tinkerers; these are a brilliant idea. If there will be no official PinePhone scheme, I'll keep on the lookout for one.
