when I try to play youtube videos in Firefox, I get the following message:

The address wasn't understood
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (rtsp) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.
You might need to install other software to open this address.

Is there an easy quick fix for this?

The easiest way to play youtube clips in Firefox-esr is to open the main firefox menu - the three lines on the address bar,
select the "web developer" option, and then select "responsiive design mode". this will add a new toolbar to the main firefox window, which allows you to select some devices to emulate, if from the first icon on the bar you select "Iphone 6/7/8" youtube will stop trying to present rtsp videos to the phone (I think maybe it will send h264?) and the videos should play.
You should be able to achieve the same effect by changing the user agent string, but I haven't found a good one yet.
