Yep. I've (finally) learned that eyes and heart make for a start, but experience is always sane.
In other words: action is the sanity check of my ideas.
I do not really know anything about Chromium OS. But if its a pseudo-open distribution, ehh.
I think the idea is that it has google juice behind it, but from what I gathered from the post, it does not.
To me, it seems pine64, being newly arrived, is at the build environment stage of life, in which we are knitting together software kit from the rest of the GNU/Linux universe into our particular requirements. Until we get full utilization out of our hardware resources — which we are not getting right now — it will be in this stage. Once we get that worked out, we'll become a viable platform for software distributions.
Our use of distributions currently are little more than build environments. Heck, I cannot even get kodi to work, though it does "run." I'm using mplayer (ffmpeg) from bash to watch stuff, which is kind of what I do anyway.
If the original poster is watching, let us know if we can help. And your help is welcome.

Not that there seems to be a Chromium OS coming to the pine64 anytime soon.
Chromiumosforsbc.org itself is "under construction."
That's the information.
I hope they are doing well, and I want them to succeed. I went to the site (2016/09/30) to learn more, but all I learned is that it is under construction.
Let us know if we can help.

i'm divided on if it was a serious site to begin with. i'm thinking maybe the guy just had a great idea about this concept and bought the domain name. we should find out something when it comes time to renew in feb 2017
