Yes, the clue is that with the SD card inserted the red light does not come on... the red LED gets its power directly from the PMIC at DCDC1. So something is damaged baddly enough that the PMIC is not supplying power to the LED. What would it hurt to try another SD card ? nothing...
A spark from a 7v supply is enough to destroy the entire board; again, who really knows how much? ... not me.
