i am wondering if the problem is that all of our Android images are developer images ?
... I was also able to su - to root on the console of my android system ( non root ). In fact, the latest image I received from tllim for testing ( another issue ) i was also able to su to root on the console.
So, it looks like the images are 'able' to be root-able; which I certainly find interesting.
At this point, the engineers (main developers) are going to have to play with it to come up with a truly non root image. On a philosophical point, I'm not sure I would 'want' to run an app that demands that my device not be rooted. To further push this philosophical point, ALL devices should be rootable--- its your device , after all !
