The latter I can fix myself - by removing it entirely from the firmware - doin' it now.
The first - well does anybody know the max temp for the tips?

Ok. Digged some more. Apparently its possible to set Boost Mode to 10C.
I did that, and tested trying to trigger it and the tip didnt get warmer.
Nice! But then ..
Left the device on at 320C och from time to time it hickups and write 450C in the display.
I believe there is something wrong in the regulating function.
