I’m on Mobian stable with a PinePhone on T‑Mobile. I saw inbound SMS die while outbound worked until I cleared the MMS pile in Modem Manager GUI. The Unknown 2300 entries were always from pics or group texts, fixing MMS APN stopped them: APN fast.t-mobile.com, type default,supl,mms, MMSC. If you don’t need MMS, disable auto retrieve or remove mmsd‑tng. When it stalls, mmcli -m any reset and restarting Chatty restores SMS. At work I handle bulk sms, and I’ve seen MMS/WAP misconfigs cause the same clog. Clearing the queue and fixing APN keeps texts flowing.
