If you liked SunOS, you'd really like NetBSD. NetBSD runs really well on the Pinebook Pro. I've been using that on mine exclusively since early 2020. Mind you the video acceleration doesn't work yet. I can stream HD video albeit not perfectly. You can run it directly on micro-SD card without disturbing your current installation if you like.
