I'd like to improve the final step of your guide, since I had some trouble to understand commands.
Here is my suggestion:
Restart the phone
During a call, run alsamixer (Card/Chip: PipeWire), press F4 to select "Capture" item and set the default microphone value to 0. Press ESC to exit. The Audio on the "other phone" should clear up.
Plug in a headset (3.5mm headphones with microphone), run alsamixer again and repeat.
DONE!
