While Biktorgj does publish his releases, and I did end up installing the latest one from there, my original question was directed more toward managing the fwudate process when using gnome-firmware. I was given some good information concerning this process, but still need to study it a bit more to understand what is and is not currently possible (safe). Firmware in general is being managed by an organization known as LVFS. They publish stable and testing repos. Unless you purposely enable the testing repo, only the stable releases are available. So, in this case, by default, gnome-firmware is displaying what LVFS is publishing in the stable repo. Changing this default may not be for everyone and gnome-firmware may not be the best tool for the job.
