Getting started using OSX

Haven't recieved my Pine 64's yet, but I have used Apple Pi Baker a lot and love it. I suspect it will work just fine with the Pine 64. It makes preparing SD cards super easy.

I can confirm Apple Pi Baker works. It successfully flashed the Android image onto my sd card. A lot faster than `dd`

I successfully used a combination of Unetbootin and Apple Pi Baker on my Mac to prepare MicroSD cards for both Remix and Ubuntu on the Pine64 (separate MicroSD cards). Works beautifully!

In each case, Unetbootin made the card bootable and Apple Pi Baker copied the ISO image to the card. Unetbootin was supposed to do the whole job but didn't, for some reason.

Which version will work the fastest(Pi Baker or Unetbootin) and how much space you needed on the SD card?

Thanks, I was having problems with using the Terminal method, (something about partitions and volumes) and so hopefully Unetbootin and Apple Pi Baker will help with that. Thanks again!

Could you specify the procedure? I just tried creating a bootable sd card with the ISO image. It showed no error, but the Pine64 won't boot.
How do you combine the two apps (step by step description would be highly appreciated  )

I have never used any of these pc boards, or anything. But as a newbie, this is what i did on my mac and it worked out well.

Step 1: F3, downloaded that, tested my SDHC cards, i purchased 16gig Lexar, Class 10 300x reading cards. They both tested ok.

Step 2: Download Pi Baker - http://www.tweaking4all.com/hardware/ras...-pi-baker/

Step 3: Downloaded the images in corresponding gig size, from the wiki page.

Step 4: Open Pi Baker, on the "restore backup" on the right, click the "..." and select the file you have downloaded, DO NOT extract it. Ensure you select the card under Pie Crust.

Step 5: Click Restore Backup.

Step 6: Grab a beer. I prefer Belgium wheat beer. 

Step 7: after done, place card in ur pine64 board. First boot, i only booted with HDM, power & keyboard/mouse. No network cable, and no dongle on the HDMI cable.

I tested and have successfully done the above with Android Lollipop, and Remix OS.
