Goood morning vietnam! lol

So, I'm wanting to beef up my security a little bit, I have Cloud flare DNS on my router and ProtonVPN on my P.B.P.
I think all I'm missing is a decent firewall, If anyone has any info or tips it would be greatly appreciated. Smile

iptables/nftables are still the linux standard for packetfiltering which is based on hosts and ports allowed while giving everything more or less free reign but if youre looking for something thats like windows where you whitelist individual apps sources maybe look into apparmor

It's pretty easy:  fill it out, save it, make it executable, and get it to run at boot time.

I like to use http://ferm.foo-projects.org/ for "regular" firewalling.

But if you (or anyone else) is looking for some variant of an application firewall (like Little Snitch on Mac or something like Glasswire on Windows), there's also https://github.com/evilsocket/opensnitch.

I (co-)maintain the AUR package (opensnitch-git) for it, so if there are any issues with it on aarch64 / the PBP, I'll try to help :)

For beginners, I recommend ufw (which is not only available for Ubuntu but for other systems as well):

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UncomplicatedFir...tuFirewall

It's basically a more user-friendly console frontend to iptables/nftables.

There is also a graphical front-end available:

Hey SpaceLord,
How did you get protonVPN on the pinebook pro? I have it on my previous laptop (Ubuntu), but I have switched to the PBP (just delivered) and don't know which OS to use or how to get the protonVPN installed (from AUR?). Loving the PBP. Thanks for any tips.
