Must admit sorting the different Uboot made all the difference

I did the more brutal method of installing the BSP Uboot,
flashing a micro sd card
disabling the emmc (screws, switch off emmc, power on, light, switch on emmc
Setting it up and setting up an fydeos account then logging in with gmail
Downloading the installer
Sorted
Nice and fast
and works a treat

What exactly you mean if you say "Setting it up and setting up an fydeos account then logging in with gmail", because I could not log in to my Google account as I would do on a Chromebook. You just used your google account as your FydeOS account?

I power washed it, signed into my FydeOS account then I said "I prefer Google". This is what you meant?

Yes, that's the sequence of signups/login for fyde.

@also1412 i'm doing it right now

edit: just checked Settings>About>Check for Updates, but it says my install is up-to-date (v89.0.4342.0)

i noticed that the fyde web store has disappeared from my install.  is this due to chrome's upcoming change to ditch chrome apps  i might have installed a different cros lol which would certainly explain it

FydeOS should be v11.3 / v11.4
Platform should be 13421.23.11.*

So I managed to have Play Store installed via openGapps. But the device is not Play Protect certified, so the Play Store is not working at all.

But F-Droid is working and also Aurora. I can run Android apps, no problem so far.
I must say great experience. We even can have a little Linux here or there...

FydeOS should be v11.3 / v11.4
Platform should be 13421.23.11.*

Version was 11.1 (didn't note the platform #, sorry.) I'm going to try rewrite using the 11.2 img

Just tried on 11.2 install, still doesn't show 11.4 update. platform is 13421.23.11.36

Just tried to run 11.4 from SD, but I had only blank screen, just heard some sound. Also with 11.3. Even 11.2

what uboot is installed on your emmc? could be the cause of the video issue.
