Sad to hear that, I would really have something else than Phosh. Sad
Sorry just to understand you. Why desktop so important? is it just because of how it looks on the phone? or are you also talking about performance, etc? could you please (or anyone else) shed light on why people are asking for a different desktop?

Just to make the problem more simple and not talking about performance: how do you decide, which shoe to buy? It's shoe right, who cares about the forms and colors, the purpose is to walk in it. It's a personal choice which shoe to buy, so is which DE to use.

I don't like phosh, as it reminds me to android, that is the personal side. On the functionality side: I like notifications better on plasma, setup menu for me it's easier to handle, KDE is more mature I think. I don't like phosh's keyboard, plasma's keyboard is better. I think I could go on listing more things, but you might get the idea already. Personally I prefer plasma over phosh. I really like SFOS, its the most smooth and mature, but SFOS seems to be abandoned now. Maemo's UI is the best, but it is simply not there yet.

I prefer the KDE/Plasma Desktop because it's usually far more customisable than Gnome and Phosh. Of course, Phosh could go a different way, but I think they intend to follow Gnome as close as possible.
So, although Phosh is currently the most usable desktop, I would like to transition to Plasma in the long run.
After asking about gsconnect on Phosh I didn't think to try kdeconnect, so thanks for the info. Apart from installing ~150MB of libraries it works - with a load of rough edges, but better than nothing.

I really like Plasma mobile too! So far, I've tried many UIs for GNU/Linux mobile, and IMHO the best ones, leaving aside the maturity level and stability, are:

1. Silica (Sailfish, proprietary unfortunately)
2. Lomiri (still too bonded to UBPorts ATM)
3. Plasma mobile (really unstable, hopefully it'll improve with the CE)
4. Phosh (I really don't like it, but it's the more mature so far - thanks Purism!)

Hopefully in the next month or so we'll see enough improvement of Plasma Mobile to become a serious alternative. I've sort of lost hope in Lomiri, I have the impression that the UBPorts team is more committed to work on android based phones (Fairphone, Volla, FXTech, etc.)
