Received my pinephone on March 3 2020 in Vancouver, Canada after it was held at the customs (no tracking update or reply from the customs after I sent proof of purchase).
Paid around 24$ CAD (17.50$ USD) of taxes + 10$ CAD (7.29$ USD) for the handling fee.
Roughly $20 for Belarus (15% of the price minus 22 euro tax-free limit).
I was ready for that. What I wasn't ready for was the Hong Kong shipping team labelling it as a gift with $25 value, which resulted in our customs and post playing passive-aggressive with me for three weeks over misfilling the import forms. Not that I'm angry or anything but several of my acquaintances do plan to order the PinePhone when production batch is out, so if possible ask the Hong Kong team to fill out the real value. Our customs doesn't believe in brand new $25 smartphones unfortunately.
Yes - UK - about £12, most of which was fees.
In general, I'd rather pay the right amount of tax for things, rather than the least amount of tax. The packaging had "gift" marked on it, which was blatantly a lie. Let's do the right thing next time ^^.
