Mainline kernel [Solved]

Hi,

I read on the Sunxi wiki that there is relative mainline support, but when i try https://github.com/apritzel/linux.git (a64-v5) it seems it doesn't have sd card support, my kernel hangs on Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk0p2 any ideas?

Hm, the kernel has SD card support and boots fine, but many thing are still missing, e.g.
- ethernet
- USB
- wifi
- cpufreq

Ethernet seems already up, and hopefully the USB up soon.
Please participate on the Sunxi IRC, and hopefully the Pine64 mainline kernel will be fully up soon.

any idea why i am getting "Waiting for root device" then?, i did select the Sunxi sd controller in my kernel config.

Its fixed now,it was a missing dep in arch/arm64/Kconfig.platforms

The sunxi project is progressing nicely, we just had a meeting at the FOSDEM conference in Bruxelles...

You can always follow the progress of the linux-sunxi project on their wiki ( https://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort ) , their mailing list and the #linux-sunxi IRC channel on #freenode.

Ethernet and USB (lower port) are working now. You can try the Mainline*-next-* image from Armbian.
