Any way to use the wifi module?
#1
Hello,
i've bought the wifi module and didn't knew it was disabled in debian.
The bad thing is, that I can't connect my rockpro64 to a lan socket, so I have to use wifi somehow.
Now is the question, if there is some way to enable it again (because I don't really need PCIE support) or is that whole module bugged?

I would really appreciate your help, since I am a linux beginner.

Thanks,
Bluetexon

It's enabled in 0.7.7

Thank you for your reply, but I've read that already. I've tried that version yesterday but it didn't boot up.
Don't I also have some drawbacks using an older version?

There would definitely be a lot of drawbacks.
I suggest starting with [edit] v0.7.11 and then install kernel 4.4.138-1100
(I can't suggest anything with 4.4.154 yet because there's an i2s bug I haven't tracked down yet and I don't know which one it starts in, but I'll be finding that out soon.)

I'm personally using 4.4.138-1100 with a single tweak to the rockchip VOP driver source code to enable 4K framebuffer console.

Later today I'm going to attempt to re-arrange the device tree to re-enable sdio0 (which will allow our wifi modules to work) and disable pcie.
If I get that working, I'll post the edit.
