Hello,
I received this week my rock64 sbc and i installed ubuntu with etcher from image file: xenial-mate-rock64-0.5.5-136-arm64.img.xz. This gives a system version 16.04.3LTS with a kernel 4.4.77-rockchip-ayufan-136aarch64.
I also bought this wifi dongle (https://www.pine64.org/?product=usb-wifi...for-rock64), but i don't succed to make it working. It is well detected by the sbc (from lsusb output). Even after executing the command "sudo iw reg set FR" (i am in France), i don't succed to configure an internet connection with this wifi dongle.
Someone can help?
regards

kivy on armbian with lcd

I am trying to get kivy up and running on my sopine board with the pine lcd. It is complaining about not know what to use as the main video driver however and I didn't know if anyone knew how to get the board to use a different video driver or to get kivy to play nice with the lcd? I know the raspberry pi and its touch screen will work but I think it is due to the fact there is support for its display driver within kivy.
Any help is appreciated

14" Pinebook to sell within EU - SOLD

I would like to trade my 14" PB for 11" PB, preferably within European Union
We would only pay for the shipping of our packages.
Please PM me, if you are interested.
I think that step by step I will converge to some 2 in 1 device and may sell also my second 14" Pinebook. It is an interesting device, I have learned a lot with it, but I miss some key features, not only lack of Windows support, but also a lack of arm64 applications for instant messaging, low performance, lack of touch screen, etc.
So if someone from EU would be interested, we can make a deal.

Hello,
I am trying to use the "Android 7.1.2 Stock Image using DD method [eMMC Boot] [20180518]" image to write to my 64GB eMMC module.
I have the USB adapter for eMMC and used the Pine64 installer to write the image to the eMMC module.
The image wrote and was verified successfully by the Pine64 installer.
When I put the eMMC module onto the board and boot, the light comes on, but nothing else happens. I left it for 15 minutes then switched it off and retried downloading and writing the image again. - this did not work either.
Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.

I have my ROCK64 booted with the Debian Stretch Mate OS, and Im trying to figure out how to enable the USB wifi adapter delivered with my board.
I see the USB adapter listed in the USB devices, but wlan0 is not present in ifconfig.
Do I need to download and compile a driver, or is it just a matter of editing a config file somewhere? When wlan0 is up and running what file contains the SSID and PSK from my network?
Thanks.

Rock64 ethernet problems

Hi
I have a Rock64 board 4GB version and just cannot get a reliable ethernet connection.
I have flashed the SPI and I am booting from a USB 3.0 HDD (1TB) connected to a powered USB 3 hub.
The same problem occurs with ayufan linux, Armbian, Nextcloudpi and DietPi; with DietPi being the most stable to date.
While I can get to the login screen and login when connected directly to a keyboard and HDMI, when I connect an ethernet cable or SSH into the machine the whole system slows and becomes unresponsive.
The ethernet lights flash intermittently and often go blank for 20-30 seconds at a time.
I have tried limiting the ethernet connection to 100MB, cutting the blue and brown cables, two different routers and the problem is always the same.
As I intend to use this as a Nextcloud server obviously reliable ethernet is key. Is this a common problem and how can I fix it before returning the board.

Hello all,
I'm thinking of buying the 99$ Texas Instruments DLP projector for the BeagleBone.
It can be wired up to a raspberry pi as well.
http://www.ti.com/tool/DLPDLCR2000EVM
I very much want to know if this can be configured on an Ayufan Ubuntu Bionic image.
These are the instructions to make it work with a Raspberry Pi:
https://www.mickmake.com/post/build-a-pi...-project/2
(Also a video tutorial from the same guy):
I guess I should start off by asking what are the main differences when using the GPIO on a Rock64 vs a Raspberry.
Also, where do I find the R64 equivalent of /boot/config.txt and /etc/rc.local from the raspbian OS?
The tutorial says one must modify both of these files on a raspberry. That, and enable I2C.
I'm a noob with SBCs, so all help is welcome.
Thank you for your time.
