Yes, an always-on VPN is possible, as already stated in the other thread. The instructions were linked to already too, but you haven't said what you think is wrong with them:

Saying you value privacy doesn't really get us very far - you don't say what you want to keep private, or who from - phone providers, wifi access point operators, etc. Do you want to use it to connect to a commercial VPN provider, a server that you own, your home network or something else? Whether you're better off with Wireguard, OpenVPN or something else entirely will depend on exactly what it is you're trying to do. Which one is 'most secure' doesn't matter much if something else is the weakest link - like VPN providers that turn out to be owned by advertising companies or intelligence agencies.
