Slow Downloads - can I help?

There's no need to seed manipulated/crappy/bloated OS images that contain more bugs than the real OS images. It takes me less than 40 seconds to download the original Xenial OS image containing latest fixes:

Code:
xenial-pine64-bspkernel-201 100%[============================================>] 159.51M  3.19MB/s   in 39s

2016-05-04 16:30:00 (4.07 MB/s) - 'xenial-pine64-bspkernel-20160424-1.img.xz' saved [167261624/167261624]

The OS images on wiki.pine64.org are manipulated by Pine64 and don't follow proper versioning conventions. Using these images only makes fixing bugs harder. And the more OS images will follow the worse it gets.

And BTW: did you already notice who and how bugs are fixed? Puh...

Hate to argue with a mod but thats not how the net works.

User X will find a blog post about 6 months from now and it will reference an early build for here and he will go looking for it and if he finds it will download it, if the torrent doesnt exist they may redo a link.

It's your call but heck we cant even get old buggy version links taken off the wiki. Controlling and limiting distribution is important during development.

Just my 2 cents. I will drop the subject now.

I can host direct links to them on my website if preferred.  If anyone would want that, just list the images you would like to see hosted.

If I've helped you with something, please leave a rating for my responses.

Ok here is the torrent for the Debian Linux with Mate as well as the Xubuntu Xenial image. I will create the others shortly.

Hi,

I have just seen this discussion while downloading one of the Debian images for my new Pine64 from the webserver.

If there should be any possibility to help this project with more bandwidth, just inform me!
I can upload the images on my server but could also seed them via torrent and three 10 MBit connections + webserver.

Best regards,
Daniel // Wulffi
