and as a debian package without prompting every time for an upgrade to debians u-boot.

I was having random phosh crashes as well and flashed the 624 MHz version, which is working pretty well -- I still get the occasional hang up, but it is less common and seems to resolve faster.

However, I'm confused as to whether the clock speed was really my problem, since this post suggests the default when I flashed my OS (a couple days ago) was already 552 MHz. Is this correct? Is your 552 package the same as the default, or is it still different somehow?

As the other post mentions: Mobian is running on 552MHz so it seems weird to me if you're phone is running more stable with the higher clocks. My 552 package is the same as what mobian ships with (well the version string is different, but that's it).

Well, I can almost definitely say, 552 now works for my phone after all the power optimizations with no crashes. Even though my phone would previously crash at anything above 492. However, the standard 624 still being pushed definitely crashes my phone hard.

Gonna play with going up in speed to see if it can go even higher than 552 stably. Thanks for the help @devrtz

So it looks like I can get away with 576 without crashes, but it feels like some things are slower than they are with 552, so I think I'm getting near the limit of my RAM's stability, I still might go up again to see it I can get anymore and find the new actual crash line.

•Support clock frequency up to 667MHz(DDR3-1333)

Does Allwinner provide any specs on what is its max clock for LPDDR3? If not, should we assume that 624MHz is going to be the max speed possible for the LPDDR3 RAM?

Well, 588 seems to be the absolute line for me, so I guess for "not riding the edge" stability I'll stick with 576. It also seems that the u-boot people have dropped things back to 552 from here on because of the stability issues, which is good. Though there are some regressions with the update, so testing isn't going well (at least with manjaro).

I hope you keep up the testing @devrtz for the people who want the extra performance and can pull it off though. It is rather noticeable performance if you can turn up the speed. That or the u-boot team start to keep a couple overclock versions as well like the Arch team are doing.
