Power switch circuit

Yeah, it is worthwile to check the dimensions of the switches / board holes.
I got the switches from retired kettle http://www.oster.com/coffee-and-kettles/...67-NP.html

From the picture, it looks like this Adafruit tactile switch (https://www.adafruit.com/products/1489).

Pololu.com also sells a similar tactile switch: https://www.pololu.com/product/1400.

I'm sure you can find these cheaper elsewhere, but if you are ordering things from Adafruit or Pololu, consider adding a pack of these to your next order.

Every Pine 64 board for KS shipment already included one tactile switch as promised.

Will the tactile switch work out of the box, or additional soldering/programming is needed?

You will have to solder it yourself. According to the updates, there were folks who didn't want this, so it's not soldered on by default.

I was recycling some home appliances and found some tactile switches. Found a new home for them - Pine
Pressing power button for 15 seconds do hard power off, short press of power currently does nothing under Linux (investigating now), reset works just as intended. 
Heatsinks are from RPi, they are bit small, still better than nothing.

I take it one switch is for on and the other is for off?

Left switch is power, and right switch is reset.

On your last picture, right in front of the wifi/bt module, you have 8 holes for 2 switches. Left is for power, right is for reset.
