Plans for gaming?

So I just saw this subforum and wanted to ask if any plans were in the works of building/coding a dedicated emulation software for the Pine A64+. I noticed there are no stretch goals for this KS campaign but I think that would be a pretty sweet one if it's not already been planned. My knowledge regards to coding is basically non-existent so even if there were tutorials on how to get started in this regard that would be great.

Also would something like this be possible to do on the preinstalled Android OS or would I have to use Linux?

Thank you for your time!

Anyone looking to game my question would be to you what kind of gamer are you? I ask this because only some games will run on this system. I will be brutely pushing my first board I get in February to the limit to find out what they can run gaming wise.

I would say anything Android Play Store based should be fine and you can run.... so if your looking for a FSP look into Modern Combat 5 and try that out. If you are looking for TCG try Hearthstone. If you are looking for old games you can download emulators on Play store which gives you all the old pokemon, Mario, Zelda etc... games and they should play just fine if you have a decent emulator.

If you are looking for hardcore gaming I will tell you now it will not work on this system. You cannot play Fallout 4, Battlefront 2 or any other new game on this device. It doesnt have the graphic capacity and is running on an OpenGL based system.

Because its OpenGL though you can get games like World of Warcraft, League of Legends and other such games to work... or atleast you should be able to.

Like I said I will test this to the max on my first board with both Linux and Android. Most likely the Android based system will only run whats in the app store but you can get minecraft, to decent RPG's and MMO's and MOBA's in the app store now and they all have really decent graphics but if you are looking for a specific game for PC I would say plan on learning a bit about Linux and Wine which is a emulator software for Linux.
