AT&T prepaid has a government assisted plan, pay $5 month, for
$50 a month prepaid plan, includes data.
sent from my Manjaro Converg. phone running Manjaro on an sd card, using PureTalk cell service (on cellular data)
Using TracFone last year myself, both their AT&T and their Tmobile sim cards worked for me TracFones Verizon did not.
I paid $1 for the TracFone 3 pack of sim cards at my local Family Dollar store.
I have seen the 3 sim card pack at other dtores as well.
You can also buy the monthly prepaid service cards quite cheap at the same stores.
Good cheap way to test your Pine phones...
I did wind-up getting a few lines from Pure Talk, they are cheap and give you a discount for multiple lines.
Sent from my Manjaro convergent phone running a recent release of Manjaro on sd card, using PureTalk for my data connection.

I was using Gnu/Linux exclusively since 2004 and Trisquel, Hyperbola, etc. since 2011.If Tracphone doesn't allow it, Mint and Red Pocket have good cheap plans that work with the pinephone
Then the covid happened. Then an illegal landlord lockout. Everybody's got problems.
I don't want to die, so I currently have a tracfone (Motorola E7) and was wondering if I could just put the SIM card in the Pinephone?
If not, can anybody recommend a no-contract provider? I currently use public WiFi for data and just need to be able to make and receive phone calls and sms messages so that I can pay my bills.
Thank you for your time.
