I looked at the exploder diagram in the earlier post (https://files.pine64.org/doc/datasheet/p.../PinePhone Exploded Diagram ver 1.0.pdf) and found the top ribbon cable is for the Touch Panel (TP)
I found the Datasheet for the TP GOODIX GT917S https://www.crystalfontz.com/controllers/GOODIX/GT911/
The little micro processor on the ribbon is the GOODIX.

At least I have narrowed what is what now.
