@SwordfishII : What facts motivate your guess ?
The "Windows" solution is likely driver/VM/virtual desktop based.
Pinephone is still fledgling in development, it is unlikely this is implemented, if even possible, when basic functionality is still being worked out.
Never seen a Linux method for doing this. The Pi 4 has dual hdmi out for dual screen.
The pinephone only has displayport via this source.

This and the next section in particular is how I would approach it, coupled with a script to turn off the phone display on hotplug (leaving the two monitors in a combined virtual display)
