It can supply power to a 2.5" USB 3.0 HDD on the USB 3.0 port just fine (900mha).
Regardless, I am 99% sure that 128Gb is the max supported SD capacity. I'll double check and edit this post within 24hrs to confirm.

edit: so even larger capacity SDs work. But 128Gb is safe.
