I am working on a project to rip all of my physical DVDs to digital files, and sharing them on my network via minidlna from my Pine board

Based on the premise of your question, I'm pretty sure that your intent is to be illegal in most jurisdictions!

Note:   sharing DVD(s) from your pine board in the U.S.  is investigated by the FBI in the United States, for instance, and the penalty is a huge fine and imprisonment !
