If you run a 'sha256sum -b Android_eMMC_install.img.tar.gz.sha256' against the original file, and post the output (and do so in future please when posting large files, particularly images ) we can see if the issue originates from the file, upload or something google is doing.
Did as explained mounted, deleted and renamed - total success!!!

I'm now running my Pinebook on SDcard Android 7.1.2 version on eMMc with gmail and all but one : update!
