hi, you can do just about anything at all with this gnu+linux system that you might do with any other system; albeit, this system has the advantage (like the RPi) of having a small footprint.
This board can easily be the backplane of a router, bridge, network diagnostic tester, &c. That said, creating a diagnostics tool which you are authorized to create and install is one thing... creating a sniffer that you you are NOT authorized to install is quiet another thing... especially at work-- for which usually an infraction is grounds for dismissal.
