Hi - I came across this thread through my own searches for solutions to the snap install issue on the default Pine note OS.
Having looked into it a bit further I ended up testing Libbylinux on a (non-pine) Lubuntu device and realised that the snap app is little more than a wrapper for the web version of Libby - meaning no offline mode, and no extra controls (like app specific orientation controls). Given these - particularly offline mode - were what I came for, I'm no longer looking for how to complete the install as I can use the web interface already.
Just adding this in case anyone else was hoping the libbylinux environment would be more like a container to the android version (i.e. supporting downloads/offline mode)
