Airquotes around that overloaded term "Cloud" because this is what I mean:
- sync docs
- archive pics
- stream music & vids
- etc. feature parity with AlphabetInc apps,
- not email (for various reasons); so I'll get that from a trusted ISP that does POP/IMAP and I've already got a short list for that.
Thinking outloud, I'll need several things in addition to phone apps, like a VPN tunnel to securely "phone home", building out these hosted services (and I do have hardware already), etc.
Any options folks use or have heard of?
late to the thread but for anyone still looking at this - I built something called Syncloud (https://syncloud.org) that does most of what youre describing. Nextcloud for file sync, Jellyfin for media, and a bunch of other apps from an app store. its open source and runs on ARM boards so Pine stuff should work. handles the https and VPN stuff so you can access everything remotely without messing with tunnels manually
