Also, after reboot must open settings / system / remote desktop and reset the password to what you want.  The password does not stick across reboots.

I know a lot of my stuff is not going to the right people (distro builders/wayland devs/...).  Just putting it here for people who bought the device. 

xfreerdp from my desktop to PineNote is working great.  See the post about Liferea RSS reader.
