I want to share my experiences for anyone looking for a wireless mouse in general:
I recently bought a wireless mouse which requires a usb-c dongle to work. This works, bluetooth can remain disabled. I thought this may save some battery.
However:
I also have the pinephone keyboard attached permanently to the phone. To be able to use the phone's own usb-c port (for anything) I first have to 'disconnect' the keyboard (press the button on the side for about 12 seconds). This would be acceptable, but has these huge downsides:
a) I cannot use this mouse and charge the phone at the same time
b) I cannot use this mouse and e.g. connect a usb stick at the same time
So I now ordered a bluetooth mouse after all...
PS
Yes I could mend this by also connecting the usb-c dock -- but I don't wanna
