Some update:

I had indeed a defective hard-drive which has been replaced by the seller. I've placed the new one, and it's working fine now with the 12V 5A power supply from pine store.

I'm currently doing the initial RAID 1 sync, thus it will take a few hours before I can really use it, but it looks good to me now.
