What device is this? You posted this in General and didn't specify, so I have no idea what you're using.

The camera device has both a privacy switch, (aka enable / disable), and needs to be built into the kernel. So;

• Check the privacy switch to make sure it's enabled:

• Next, you will need to tell us the OS you are using, it's release and what kernel its using.
