Cannot register with email domain .wtf

i cannot register an account with an email  domain .wtf , the register form says its not a valid email
But it is

Is this restriction intentional?

It is not intentional on our part. I guess the MyBB devs wrote that check not expecting an email adress to look like that.

I've spent some time looking for that check, but can't find it...
