Stupid UI Question (PPP/Gnome?)
#1
I have a stupid UI question. I am using PPP with Manjaro/phosh-dev (currently retrieved 2023-10-11), but this applies to all the Gnome-ish versions I have tried.

How do I stop an application using the GUI?

The app windows don't have a little X in the corner. The only ways I have found to stop an app is:
- "Force Quit" using the "usage" task manager. But some of the apps seem to hide from the task manager
- Hook up a keyboard and send a <CONTROL-Q> to the application, but some of the apps seem to ignore it.
- kill -9 pid

I feel I am missing something obvious.

Or, how do I configure the app windows to have a little X in the corner, so I can stop them using the GUI?

For years, I have used KDE or XFCE. So, this might just be a stupid Gnome question.

I believe you close the apps by sliding them up from the overview/app drawer screen. this reddit post has a video of it in action: https://www.reddit.com/r/PINE64official/..._phosh_ui/

In pmos-phosh I swipe up twice:  once to get out of the immediate app manipulation, then again on the app image to have it quit. i.e. what tophneal said.

That works. Thanks so much. I can feel my blood pressure going down now.
