Convergence dock not charging pinephone mobian

Anybody else experiencing this issue? Dock works fine for everything but it's draining my battery at a rate of about 2w. I though it might have been the usb port on my monitor i'm using it with, so I switched to a wall charger and when connected to the phone directly it charges, but as soon as I try to use it with the dock it's back to discharge mode. I'm running all the current updates on mobian at the moment.

We've got several threads on this issue. Mobian is missing patches that will permit it to charge above .5A, assuming that's the issue you are having. But it's basically unusable for anything but Ethernet w/ the screen off. There is a ticket / issue at Mobian on the matter but things haven't changed.

Maybe you can also let them know your experiences so that they know that several people would like to see these patches.

don't know if you knew, but there's a new kernel image available which should fix most of the PD issues.
So to say the anx7688 driver finally got the latest updates... and arrived in Mobian.

Just try:

sudo apt-get install linux-image-5.11-sunxi64

Let the setup finish and reboot.

I updated to 5.11 but still see power issues with my usb hub and computer. A charging wall wart works at 1.5A though.

Thanks for the heads-up. Didn't seem to change anything here though with a few of the power supplies I've tested w/ the Convergence dock.

My Apple HDMI multi adaptor still charging at 0.5A only...

It does report PD 2. I can't recall if it did previously. It may just need to have the current limit changed.

I do recall that Manjaro Phosh had all of this taken care of when I tested it.

The backlight does appear to flicker slightly with this kernel during discharge (while plugged in). You may need to adjust the brightness to 50%-70%  to see it.

Its also because the usbc connectors contact surface is 1/16" to short.

The current operating system on your phone probably has some of the effects on the dock.

Using recent Mobian images, I have seen the charge limited to 0.5 amp on some occasions,
but at other times it says 2.0 amp...

.... this happens sometimes since our OSes are still relatively immature.
